Why self-care should be your top priority & a cheeky 10-day challenge... 🧘‍♀️

Hello MAD Crew

Today we are coming at you with a blog we felt was needed, a topic that is sometimes put on the back burner.

We are certainly feeling the ‘hustle’ at MAD HQ. Between running a small biz and working full time. It's hard to prioritise self-care.

But it’s such an essential part of health and wellness so we thought we would come to you today with a friendly reminder to practice self-care.

We wanted to give you a little checklist so you can tick them off day by day for 10 days and they can act as a reminder to do something every day that is purely for you.

Sometimes we forget to do things just for ‘joy’ we become so fixated on progress and ticking off goals that we forget to do things just because we love them and they make us feel good.

We will be the first to put our hands up and say, we become like machines, constantly striving for better and basically living for your future self. But if you are constantly doing things for your future self then you never do anything for your present self.

So our challenge for you today is to do one thing every day that injects pleasure, joy and happiness into your life.  That helps you become present and centred.

Get in the habit of doing things for joy, pure and unapologetic joy.

Let go of the pressure of feeling as though it’s not getting you anywhere, because if you aren’t filling up your cup, then you will have nothing to pour back out.

Cross one off each day for the next 10 days. Then after those 10 days keep doing something each day, whether it’s 5 minutes or 1 hour…

  1. Give yourself a facial
  2. Go for a walk in the sunshine
  3. Meditate for 10 minutes
  4. Write down 5 things you love about yourself
  5. Have a nice relaxing bath or hot shower and then moisturize your whole body
  6. Eat your favourite meal
  7. Listen to your favourite podcast
  8. Give yourself a nice hair treatment
  9. Watch your favourite movie
  10. Celebrate something big or small from that day

Commit to yourself and commit to the pleasure of making yourself happy, each and every day.

Sometimes self care just means doing nothing, sometimes nothing is everything.

Just take care of you in the best way you know how!

Love always
